Qui-Gon Jinn is one of my favorite Jedis in the Order. He is a maverick, he introduces the Chosen One prophecy, and it turns out he is the one Palpatine was most scared of. His actions directly impacted the galaxy and brought about not only the end of the Republic and the Order, but also the Sith (until Palpatine for some reason came back...), bringing balance to the force as the prophecy foretold. Qui-Gon accomplishes all of this as an INFP.
Qui-Gon Jinn loves to meditate both literally and figuratively. He is a deep thinker who wrestles with the force and seeks deeper understanding of its workings. In social situations he is polite and often deferential, though there is a rebellious streak in him. He was offered a seat on the council but rejected it for his own pursuits. He needs time alone to reflect and prepare himself emotionally for situations.
This one is pretty obvious. Qui-Gon is a space cadet. While adept in combat and a good leader in a crisis, Qui-Gon is much more interested in using his mind for untangling the mysteries of the force. The Force is a good proxy for intuition in Star Wars and Qui-Gon cares more for it than the Council's orders or the Order's dogma and protocols. Qui-Gon also sees the big picture and nuance in the various interactions that go on all around him and Obi-Wan. Lastly, a direct quote: “Concentrate on the moment. Feel, don’t think. Use your instincts.”
Qui-Gon, like Obi-Wan, understands his feelings and does not let them overwhelm him and his way of interacting with others. There is an interaction with Dooku where Qui-Gon acknowledges his fear and Dooku is proud because not many padawans have this introspection or willingness to admit their fears. Qui-Gon is also deeply compassionate. Lastly, a direct quote: “Concentrate on the moment. Feel, don’t think. Use your instincts.”
This is one that may ruffle some feathers. Qui-Gon is oh such a Perceiver. He improvises, goes with the flow, and stays in the moment. People incorrectly tend to conflate future-orientation with Judging types, when Judging vs Perceiving has more to do with how you engage with the world. Qui-Gon is a big-picture thinker and is concerned for the future, but he trusts in the Force and allows himself to live in the moment and react to events organically. Lastly, here is an interaction with Obi-Wan that adds weight to Jinn being a P:
Qui-Gon: "Keep your concentration here and now, where it belongs."
Obi-Wan: "But Master Yoda said I should be mindful of the future."
Qui-Gon: "But not at the expense of the moment."
Everyone loves a good Maverick. They cannot be controlled or pegged down. Qui-Gon follows his heart (the Force) and sets off a series of events that have profound changes on the galaxy. He also has a green lightsaber which could be a good proxy for Intuitive Jedi vs Sensing Jedi who might wield a blue lightsaber and focus on physical combat. Qui-Gon Jinn focuses on the mental aspects of the Force, similar to Master Yoda.
